  • The Los Angeles City Attorney filed a civil enforcement suit against Stake.us on August 29, 2025 - the first-ever US government civil enforcement action against a sweepstakes operator. It names Stake.us, its affiliated streaming platform Kick, co-founders Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani, and 12+ gaming suppliers, alleging an illegal gambling enterprise under California's Unfair Competition and False Advertising laws.
  • A New York lawsuit (filed around April 7, 2026) alleges the platform enabled underage gambling among users aged 13-19, and names Coinbase as an alleged crypto on-ramp despite Coinbase's own anti-gambling terms. It moved to federal court on July 15, 2026.
