Alabama has an old civil statute that lets a person who loses money gambling sue to recover those losses - Ala. Code section 8-1-150, codified in 1852, the same kind of mechanism Kentucky uses under its own KRS 372.020. Subsection (a) voids any contract founded on a gambling consideration and gives the loser six months to sue; subsection (b) lets any person sue within twelve months "for the use of" the loser's wife, children or next of kin. It predates online gaming by decades and was written with informal card games and illegal slot parlors in mind, not dual-currency apps.
