PlayFame Refer a Friend Page No Longer Names a Purchase
PlayFame rewrote its refer-a-friend help answer at 03:09 UTC on September 29, 2026, and the sentence requiring your friend to make a qualifying purchase is no longer in it. Three sister casinos publishing the identical article - McLuck, Hello Millions and SpinBlitz - still carry that sentence word for word, and the promotion terms the new answer points to returned HTTP 403 to us, so we cannot say the requirement itself has gone.
We reported on September 28 that eight sweepstakes casinos make a referral reward conditional on your friend buying Gold Coins, PlayFame among them. Roughly eighteen hours later, PlayFame's answer no longer said it. We are not claiming our article prompted the rewrite, and the record does not support that reading: PlayFame had already been editing this corner of its help centre the previous morning. We caught the change because we fingerprint these help centres every few hours. Our stored copy of the article carries one body fingerprint through the morning of September 29 and a different one after it, so what moved is the text itself, not a timestamp.
What did PlayFame change in its refer-a-friend answer?
The article is PlayFame help-centre ID 20598993300765, created August 2, 2024. Until last night it was titled "I referred a friend. When will I receive my reward?" and carried a four-bullet checklist. It is now titled "I referred a friend. When do I get my reward?" and the checklist is gone. Here is the whole of the new answer, as served by PlayFame's own help-centre API this morning:
"Referral rewards are applied once your referred friend has completed every requirement set out in the referral promotion, which normally includes registering with your code and completing account verification. Rewards are not applied at the moment your friend registers. Allow time for their account activity to be confirmed against the promotion's requirements. Requirements and reward amounts vary by promotion, so review the current referral promotion terms for the details that apply to you."
We know what it replaced because we read that text and published it the day before. Our September 28 piece recorded PlayFame's article carrying the same four-bullet checklist as its sister brands, a body the article was given at 14:47 UTC on August 6, 2026. Three of those sisters still serve it: McLuck, Hello Millions and SpinBlitz publish the same article, all three last edited on August 6, 2026, and all three still say: "If you've referred a friend and are waiting for your reward, please make sure that: Your friend signed up using your referral link. Both accounts meet the promotion's eligibility requirements. Your friend completed the required qualifying purchase. All conditions listed in the Refer a Friend Terms & Conditions have been satisfied."
One thing left the page: the purchase condition. The document the answer sends you to did not change. The old text linked the words "Refer a Friend Terms & Conditions" to the brand's own /refer-friend page, and the new text links "referral promotion terms" to https://www.playfame.com/refer-friend. Same destination, different label. A player who follows that link lands where they always did, assuming they can reach it.
Does this mean PlayFame no longer requires a purchase?
We cannot tell you that, and neither can PlayFame's help centre.
The new wording does not say a purchase is unnecessary. It says rewards land once your friend "has completed every requirement set out in the referral promotion" and that requirements "vary by promotion". A qualifying purchase can sit inside that sentence without being named. What changed for certain is that a player reading the answer today is not told about one.
The document that would settle it is the referral promotion's own terms, and we could not read it. The page the new answer links to, playfame.com/refer-friend, returned HTTP 403 on September 29, as did every other path we tried on that domain including the general terms page. The equivalent page at McLuck, Hello Millions and SpinBlitz returned 403 as well, so we cannot read the sisters' terms either. The help-centre API is the only surface in this family readable from here, which is why this piece stops at what the help centre says, per how we verify what we publish.
Which sweepstakes casinos still name a purchase in their refer-a-friend help pages?
Every other brand in the group does. PlayFame is now the only one of the eight whose referral articles never use the word "purchase" at all.

|---|---|---|---|

| Hello Millions | "I referred a friend. When will I receive my reward?" | Aug 6, 2026 | Yes |
| SpinBlitz | "I referred a friend. When will I receive my reward?" | Aug 6, 2026 | Yes |
| Mega Bonanza | "What rewards do I get for referring a friend..." | Aug 29, 2024 | Yes |
| Jackpota | "What rewards do I receive for referring a friend..." | Jul 2, 2024 | Yes |

That 03:09 UTC edit did not arrive out of nowhere. PlayFame has been working through its own help centre, and the referral answer is the fifth article it has changed in under twenty-four hours. The sequence, in UTC:
- September 28, 05:16 to 05:26 - PlayFame edits four help articles, two of which it created that morning, covering welcome rewards, promo and referral codes, password resets and duplicate charges.
- September 28, 08:40 - we publish our reading of eight brands' referral terms, including PlayFame's copy of the four-bullet checklist as it then stood.
- September 29, 03:09 - PlayFame retitles article 20598993300765 and replaces the checklist with the new answer. Our stored body fingerprint changes with it.
- September 29, morning - McLuck, Hello Millions and SpinBlitz still serve the old text. No article at the other seven brands has a body edit later than August 26, when McLuck last touched its "Can I play from anywhere?" state list.
The overnight churn these centres generate is otherwise metadata, and we logged an example on September 29 itself: a PlayFame article whose timestamp moved while its body fingerprint stayed identical. Against that background a genuine body rewrite stands out.
Why does McLuck's refer-a-friend article mention PlayFame?
Because the first six brands in that table are run by B-Two Operations and share one set of help articles. The template was written with PlayFame's name in it and never fully swapped out. McLuck's and Hello Millions' "How does the Refer a Friend program work?" articles both open: "Our Refer a Friend program lets you earn rewards by inviting eligible friends to join PlayFame." Both still require that "your friend must complete any qualifying purchases outlined in the promotion."
So as of this morning, McLuck's help centre says a referral to PlayFame needs a purchase and PlayFame's help centre does not. Pulsz and Pulsz Bingo sit outside that family and their wording is older still.
What should you do before you send a PlayFame referral link?
Read the promotion terms attached to the offer, not the help article. Three checks before you ask a friend to spend money:
- Take the condition from the current offer, not the answer page. These help articles are shared across brands, stale, now inconsistent with each other, and none of them publishes a reward figure. What the referral pays, and what triggers it, sits in the promotion terms; our guide to sweepstakes casino bonuses covers the referral offers that do publish a spend requirement.
- Check which currency the reward arrives in. A reward paid in Gold Coins rather than Sweeps Coins cannot be redeemed for anything, whatever your friend spent to earn it.
- Treat a referral as separate from the free routes. All of these sites run no-purchase routes to free coins that depend on nobody else's card, and our guide to collecting coins without buying sets out which of them are worth the effort.
Our promo code tracker records which brands need a code entered during sign-up and verification.

FAQ
Does PlayFame require a purchase for a referral reward?
Its help centre no longer says so. The answer rewritten on September 29, 2026 names registration with your code and account verification as what the requirement "normally includes", and says requirements vary by promotion. It neither states nor rules out a purchase, and we could not read the promotion terms it points to.
What did PlayFame's referral article say before?
It carried a four-bullet checklist including "Your friend completed the required qualifying purchase." We read and published that text on September 28, the day before the rewrite, and our stored fingerprint of the article body changed after it. That exact text is still live at McLuck, Hello Millions and SpinBlitz, which publish the same article.
Do the other B-Two casinos still require a referral purchase?
Their help articles still say so. McLuck, Hello Millions, SpinBlitz, Mega Bonanza and Jackpota all name a qualifying purchase, as do Pulsz and Pulsz Bingo in older wording. None has been edited since PlayFame's change.
