Chumba Casino APK and In-App Redeeming Are on Paper Only

Chumba Casino's new Terms and Conditions, republished on September 16, 2026, define an App, an App Store download and an Android APK for the first time and let you request a prize redemption "ON THE PLATFORM AND/OR APP" - but the same document says those formats apply only "if and when these formats are offered/supported by us", so there is nothing yet to redeem from. The only Chumba Casino apps Apple lists are two free gold-chip games with no redeemable currency, both last updated on December 18, 2025.

Before the detail, the provenance, because it decides how much weight any of this carries. VGW serves the Chumba rulebook as a dated PDF whose filename encodes the date and the version, and the live terms page currently links 260916_POL_CHU_TCs_27-1.pdf. That file and the April file it replaced, 260407_POL_CHU_TCs_23-3.pdf, are both still served, from two hostnames that return byte-identical copies. An invented filename on the same path returns a clean 404 at 215 bytes, so the two documents we did get are real files and not a CDN handing the same page to every request. We read both in full and diffed them.

Two limits. The jump is 23.3 to 27.1, so three versions we have never seen sit in between, and every change below is a change between April 7 and September 16, 2026 rather than an edit we can pin to a day. Chumba is one of the operators whose terms can be rewritten without telling you, which is why the only reliable before-state is an archived file. And the version numbers themselves come from the filenames: the terms PDF prints a date, "DATE OF LAST UPDATE: September 16, 2026", but never prints its own version. The Privacy Policy republished the same day does print one, "Version: 9.2".

What changed in the Chumba Casino terms?

The old document knew only a "Platform". The new one defines three more things. An App is "the services acquired by: (a) downloading the mobile application from the App Store; or (b) installing the APK file". An App Store is "any third-party application marketplace or digital catalog from which the Game is available for purchase, download and/or installation". And an APK is "Android Package Kit that is the standard, containerised file format containing all the code, assets, and resources required for the 'Chumba' related application to be installed, distributed, and run on the Android operating system". Neither document names Google Play anywhere.

The line that matters most is not in the definitions. It is in the all-caps notice on page one, the block every player scrolls past. In April it read "YOU CAN REQUEST REDEMPTION OF ANY PRIZES BY SELECTING THE 'REDEEM' BUTTON ON THE PLATFORM." In September it reads "ON THE PLATFORM AND/OR APP." The contract now treats an app as a place you can cash out from, not just a place you can play.

Then a caveat sits directly under the new definitions: "references to App and APK are only applicable if and when these formats are offered/supported by us." This is contract groundwork, not a launch announcement. VGW has written the rules for a product before confirming the product.

A whole new clause 13.1 handles the app store relationship, and it reads like Apple's standard pass-through language: "you acknowledge that these Terms and Conditions are between you and us only, and not with App Store", "we, and not the App Store, are solely responsible for our App", a warranty that you are not in a US-embargoed country, and a term making the App Store a third-party beneficiary of your contract. Clause 2.1 gained a parenthesis that matters for anyone who ever wants to complain about a prize: the sweepstakes are "operated/sponsored by VGW Games (third party application providers are not a sponsor or involved in the sweepstakes promotions in any way)".

The same-day Privacy Policy does not hedge the way the terms do. It describes Chumba as already available "through any electronic device (website, tablet, or mobile, including as an App downloadable via the Apple App Store)" and defines App as acquired "from the Apple App store operated by Apple, Inc." There is no "if and when" in it, and no APK in it either. Two documents published on one day, one in the conditional and one in the present tense, covering only the Apple half.

Is there a Chumba Casino app you can download and redeem from?

You can download a Chumba app. You cannot redeem from one. We queried Apple's public catalogue for apps sold by VGW Holdings Pty Ltd and found four: Chumba Lite, Chumba Casino Mini, LuckyLand Casino Lite and Global Poker Clock. The two Chumba ones are at version 1.25.0 and 1.16.0, both last updated on December 18, 2025, and both are free play. Chumba Lite's own store copy calls it "our free social casino game" and offers "a 1,000,000 gold chip bonus offer". Chumba Casino Mini is described as "Free to Play" and a "compact, mobile-friendly version" that lets you "get a taste of Chumba" before the full collection.

Gold chips are not Sweeps Coins. The difference between Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins is the whole model, and neither app carries the redeemable side of it.

Rivals are further along in the catalogue, though a listing settles less than it looks like it does. Here is what Apple's US store returned on September 18, 2026:

Those are update dates for the current version, not launch dates. What each app actually lets you do inside it is a separate question a store record cannot answer, so we have not checked whether Stake.us, McLuck's coin packages, Crown Coins or Pulsz Casino offer redeemable play through them.

Which VGW company handles your money now?

The "Payment Administration Agent" definition names the companies that can act as VGW's agent when you buy Gold Coins and when a prize is paid out. In version 23.3 it named eight: VGW Holdings Pty Ltd, VGW Corporation Pty Ltd, VGW Malta Holding Limited, VGW Administration Malta Limited, Agence V Limited, VGW Holdings US Inc, VGW US Inc and VGW Luckyland Inc. In version 27.1 it names four: VGW Holdings Pty Ltd, VGW Malta Holding Limited, VGW Luckyland Inc, and VGW Financial Services USA Inc.

Read that as a naming change, not a restriction. Both versions introduce the list with "including but not limited to", so dropping five names does not bar those companies from touching a payment, and adding one does not mean only four now can. What the edit does tell you is which entity VGW has chosen to put in front of US player money: VGW Financial Services USA Inc is new to the document, registered at 1881 9th Street Suite 202 Canyon Center, Boulder, Colorado, the same suite the terms give for VGW Luckyland Inc.

The definition of the company you are contracting with widened too. In April, "VGW Group, we, us or our" meant VGW Canada, VGW Games, VGW Malta and VGW GP. In September it means VGW Canada, VGW Financial Services, VGW Games, VGW GP, VGW Luckyland Inc and VGW Malta. Two entities joined the definition of "us", not one, and the second of them is the company behind LuckyLand Slots, the brand now working through its own shutdown timeline. The sweepstakes are still operated by VGW Games Limited in Malta under licence MGA/B2C/188/2010, and the platform is still owned and operated by VGW Malta, both unchanged from April. Global Poker sits under the same VGW group; we could not reach an equivalent PDF for it or for LuckyLand, because only the Chumba terms page exposes a document link through the geo-block.

Which states does the new Chumba Casino list exclude?

Sixteen, up from fourteen, and for almost everyone nothing changes. The all-caps notice on page one previously barred California, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Washington and West Virginia. September adds Indiana and Maine, and the promotional-play warranty at clause 3.1 adds the same two. Both states closed to sweepstakes play earlier in 2026 under laws we track in our guide to where sweepstakes casinos are legal, our brand database already recorded Chumba as shut in both, and the separate "Excluded Territory" definition that also blocks Gold Coin play is untouched at Washington, Michigan, Montana, Connecticut, Nevada and Delaware. The contract has caught up with reality rather than changing it.

Why would a Chumba Casino redemption sit pending?

The verification clause is the one to read twice. Clause 9.1 in version 27.1 says VGW may run checks "including your precise geolocation", and that it does so to "verify that you are not located in an Excluded Territory". The April clause said none of that. Clause 9.2, unchanged, says that until those checks are done, "any request you have made for redemption of Prizes will remain pending". The new Privacy Policy names SumSub, Jumio, Darwinium and GeoComply as the providers behind precise geolocation and identity verification, and says biometric information and precise geolocation are collected with your explicit consent. Can you still opt out of Chumba Casino arbitration?

Yes, on the same terms as before. Clause 24.3 still gives you 30 days from first accepting the terms to decline arbitration by writing to the opt-out address in that clause, still requires your full name, Customer Account email address and postal address, and still requires one exact sentence of wording - the 30-day opt-out window is the industry standard, not a Chumba quirk. Thirty days runs from your first acceptance, and a re-acceptance prompt after a rewrite is the moment most players will see these terms again. That matters because a Chumba class action has already been pushed into arbitration, VGW is defending two Minnesota class actions and other federal claims, and it settled with New York for $8 million on September 9, 2026, which we covered in our report on the New York settlement and its redemption window.

Every document above was fetched and read on September 18, 2026. Both terms PDFs were read in full and diffed sentence by sentence, and the quotations are verbatim from those files. Version numbers for the terms come from the filenames, not from the documents, which print a date but not a version. We have not seen versions 24, 25 or 26, so no individual edit can be dated more precisely than "between April 7 and September 16, 2026". Chumba's Sweeps Rules, a separate document the terms refer to, is not reachable from the geo-blocked site, so nothing here rests on it. This piece alleges no wrongdoing by any company: it reports what two of an operator's own published contracts say, side by side.
