Crown Coins Restricted States: 6 Blocked, 4 Social Mode

Crown Coins blocks six states outright and has cut four more to Crown Coins play with no cash-out. The six that cannot reach the site are Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Washington. The four Social Mode Only states are Connecticut, New Jersey, Maine and Tennessee, where unredeemed Sweeps Coins expired in Tennessee on July 31, 2026 and in Maine on August 13, 2026. Indiana runs a third model of its own, and the whole map sits in the operator's help centre and nowhere else.

Crown Coins' terms of use, sweeps rules and privacy pages all return an empty application shell, so the state list in our brand file for the brand at the top of our ranked list of sweepstakes casinos has been inherited rather than verified. The rules were there to be read the whole time, inside the operator's Intercom help centre. Our earlier checks stopped at its index page, which links collections rather than articles and so reads as empty. Walking all seven collections on August 18, 2026 returned 102 articles, with the state lists inside two of them and dated wind-down notices inside three more.

Which states can reach Crown Coins at all?

Six cannot. The operator's article on location restrictions, stamped "Updated over 2 weeks ago," carries a flat list under the heading "Restricted States (No Access)": Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Washington. "Players located in these states will not be able to access the platform."

A second list in the same article, headed "Restricted SC Mode (CC Play Only)", names Connecticut, New Jersey, Maine and Tennessee. "Players in these states can still play using Crown Coins (CC) only."

That is ten states in total, and the number matters because our own brand file says fourteen. It lists California, New York, Oklahoma and Indiana as excluded on top of the ten above. None of those four appears in either of Crown Coins' published lists. We cannot resolve the gap from outside the product: a reader in New York or California consulting the operator's own restricted-states article would find nothing telling them the site is closed to them, and we have no Crown Coins document that says otherwise. Oklahoma's ban does not start until November 1, 2026, so an omission there is at least explicable. Indiana is a separate case and we have set it out in our piece on the Indiana rebuild.

Read the gap the careful way round. An operator's silence in a help-centre article is not permission: New York and California both ban the category outright, whatever Crown Coins' restricted-states list does or does not say, and the two state pages linked above set out what each law actually does. The gap is a reason to distrust the list, not a reason to trust the state.

What does Social Mode Only actually take away?

Everything with cash attached. Crown Coins lists the consequences itself: "CC package purchases do not include free Sweeps Coins," "Sweeps Coins gameplay is not available once your state's transition is complete," "Promotional offers do not include free Sweeps Coins," and eligible bonuses such as the Monthly VIP Bonus and Birthday Bonus "will include CC only."

What survives is Crown Coins play, Crown Bingo, and the ability to keep buying CC packages that no longer carry any redeemable currency. That is the same shape as the Gold-Coin-only mode most operators fall back on in a ban state, and the reason the difference between the two currencies is the single thing to check before buying anything in a state whose law has moved.

When did Maine and Tennessee balances expire?

Both deadlines have passed, and Crown Coins ran each transition on a published four-step clock.

The wording is identical in both articles: "Any remaining redeemable Sweeps Coins that have not been redeemed will expire."

One detail deserves credit rather than criticism. During each redemption window, Crown Coins waived its own floor: "During this redemption period, there is no minimum redemption requirement." A minimum is what usually strands a small balance when an operator exits a state, and dropping it is the difference between a wind-down that pays people out and one that quietly keeps the change. We have watched the opposite happen, most recently when Spinsly left ban states with unredeemed Sweeps Coins on the table and when LuckyLand Slots closed with balances that could not move to any other brand.

The Maine timing is worth reading closely. Crown Coins started its Maine transition on July 6, three weeks before Maine's ban took effect on July 29, and closed the redemption window a fortnight after it. Tennessee's transition was complete before Maine's had even started. Measured end to end, Maine players had 38 days from the start of the transition to the close of redemptions and Tennessee players 31, both inside the 14-to-57-day spread of VGW's own state exits.

Is Crown Coins' Social Mode Only page still accurate?

No. The article headed "Social Mode Only States" still splits the four states into two groups: New Jersey and Connecticut as "currently affected", with Tennessee and Maine listed as "transitioning to Social Mode Only" and readers pointed at the state-specific articles "for important dates and deadlines related to your transition."

Both transitions finished weeks ago. Tennessee's Sweeps Coins play ended July 7 and its redemption window closed July 31; Maine's ended July 13 and August 13. The companion article on location restrictions already lists all four states together with no distinction. A player in Maine reading the Social Mode page today would reasonably conclude they still had a deadline ahead of them.

The same article never mentions Indiana, which by the operator's own separate document is neither a normal state nor a Social Mode Only one.

What should a player in these states do now?

1. Maine and Tennessee: do not take the Social Mode page as your deadline. It still reads as though a transition is coming; the transition finished. The expiry applies to redeemable Sweeps Coins, and the operator's published position is that those are gone. Maine and Tennessee players who never cashed out have support as the only remaining step, and nothing in these documents obliges Crown Coins to reinstate a balance. Ask for the account's redemption history in writing rather than a yes or no.
2. New Jersey and Connecticut: stop reading CC packages as an offer. These two are the live Social Mode states, and a package bought in New Jersey or Connecticut now carries no redeemable currency at all, by the operator's own description. The purchase still costs the same money.
3. Everywhere else: check the currency, not the brand. Crown Coins is running three different products under one name, and which one a player gets is decided by their state. Our Crown Coins review covers the version most states still see, and it is not the version Maine, Tennessee or Indiana are on.

Three limits. These documents were read from outside the United States, so we cannot say what a player in any of these states currently sees on screen. The help centre is the only Crown Coins source we can read at all. And the "Updated over 2 weeks ago" stamps Intercom prints are relative, not dated, so we can date the Maine, Tennessee and Indiana notices precisely but not the two list articles.
