ClubWPT Gold Nevada Sweeps Paused: Oct 2 Redemption Cutoff

Sweepstakes poker site ClubWPT Gold has paused sweepstakes gameplay for Nevada players: purchases and free postal entries are already off, play ends at 12:00 AM PDT on Monday, September 28, and the operator asks for redemption requests by 12:00 AM PDT on Friday, October 2. Both are written as 12:00 AM, the first minute of the day named rather than the end of it, so play stops on the night of Sunday, September 27, the day we publish this, and the redemption window closes at the end of Thursday, October 1. No Nevada regulator has published an order naming the operator.

The notice sits in the operator's own help centre as "Important update for Nevada customers", and the operative part reads in full: "In response to shifts in the regulatory environment, ClubWPT Gold will be pausing sweepstakes gameplay in Nevada. We are optimistic that with product modifications we can resume offering sweepstakes gameplay in the future."

ClubWPT Gold is not one of the 33 brands we review at our ranked list of sweepstakes casinos, so there is no review page to send you to. It runs a poker product with side games on a promotional-Chips model, and its help centre describes Chips as redeemable for cash prizes. What are the exact deadlines?

Four instructions, two of them already in force.

The operator has published nothing clarifying the two 12:00 AM stamps, so the literal reading is the only one on the record. There is one piece of evidence for taking it literally: when ClubWPT Gold ran the same exercise in Arizona in August, it wrote the gameplay cutoff as "12:00 AM MST" and the redemption cutoff as "11:00 pm MST". It distinguished the two in its own template seven weeks ago and chose 12:00 AM for both this time. Treat Thursday as the last usable day and do not plan around a grace period nobody has promised.

Does a paused Nevada account stop being billed?

Nothing in the Nevada notice says it does. The notice tells subscribers to "cancel your subscription before the renewal date to avoid any future charges", and that line has a price on it: the operator's GoldMember page puts the subscription at $99 per month. The route is documented elsewhere. The GoldMember FAQ says subscribers have a Membership section on their profile where they can cancel at any time, and that cancelling between billing dates leaves the benefits running until the end of the current billing period. An account-closure request also cancels the subscription as part of the process.

What happens to Chips left in a Nevada account?

The notice does not say. It uses the word "encourage" rather than any language of forfeiture, and names no consequence for a balance still sitting there on October 2. We are not filling that silence in either direction: it does not promise your Chips are safe, and it does not say they are gone.

The free route cannot bridge that gap either, and not only because the notice closed it. The operator's Alternative Method of Entry FAQ credits two Chips per valid mailed request card, one card per envelope, taking up to 30 days to credit. Ten accepted cards would be needed to reach the 20-Chip redemption floor, on a route that shut in Nevada the day the notice went up. Did a Nevada regulator order this?

Not that any Nevada regulator has published. The notice names no law, no agency and no order, and we read three Nevada Gaming Control Board indexes on September 27, 2026, Industry Notices, Press Releases and Public Statements, and Other Orders. None carries an item naming ClubWPT Gold, and none of the three mentions the sweepstakes category at all. That is not proof nothing happened privately, only that no public Nevada document names this operator.

What the operator does not name, Nevada's statute book does. Our Nevada state page sets out SB 256, which has made unlicensed sweepstakes-casino operation a category B felony, up to 10 years and $50,000, since October 1, 2025, and whose reach is explicitly extraterritorial. That statute is almost a year old, which is the part worth sitting with: ClubWPT Gold was running sweepstakes poker in Nevada throughout it and is stopping now, without saying what changed. Every one of the 33 brands in our database already excluded Nevada before this week.

The operator's language has also moved. PokerNews and PokerOrg both report that the notice first went out saying "As part of changes to our operations in response to state regulatory action, ClubWPT Gold will be winding down services in Nevada", and PokerOrg reports that the original went out by email and that the on-site version then reframed it as a pause. We never saw that first version, so the earlier wording is theirs rather than our own reading. What we can confirm is the edit, and the sequence is on the operator's own record:

1. September 24, 01:45 UTC - the Nevada article is created, per the help centre's own timestamp.
2. September 24 - PokerNews publishes, reporting the "state regulatory action" and "winding down services" wording.
3. September 25, 04:24 UTC - the Nevada article is stamped modified. The live text today is the softer "shifts in the regulatory environment" and "pausing" version.
4. September 25, 04:26 UTC - the Arizona article is stamped modified, ninety-two seconds after the Nevada one.
5. September 25 - CardPlayer publishes, carrying the current on-site wording.

Its Arizona notice is the tell on how deliberate that was. Somebody was in both documents in the same sitting. "State regulatory action" and "winding down services" are still standing in the Arizona text, word for word, so the phrasing was not retired across the help centre. It was taken out of Nevada.

Nevada is the sixth state to get a notice like this, after Arizona, Tennessee, Louisiana, Connecticut and New Jersey; California got a product carve-out instead of an exit. The operator's own eligibility pages have not caught up, which we set out in our read of its conflicting state lists. We could not read clubwptgold.com itself, which returned HTTP 403 to our fetcher on every path we tried, so the help centre is the readable record. How we verify operator and court claims is the standard we held this to.
